Wild Woods

This children’s room was designed for the Salt Lake City Public Library to inspire a love of local nature, and interactive, play, as well as a peaceful biophilic place for kids to sit and read. One wall features 10 Utah based flora and fauna and their scientific names. On the adjacent wall, each one of those 10 is hidden in an illustrated mural. The space includes a floor to ceiling birch tree with a cutout hole for kids to perform puppet shows. The leaves on the tree are also changeable depending on the season. There is seating for adults, and all graphics were made at a child’s eye level.
